My washcloth knitting is coming to a rapid conclusion. Five of the six are done, and the last will be finished tonight for delivery on Wednesday. One has been given to the recipient, who liked it a lot.
I’m artistically challenged in many ways. I cannot draw. In fact, when my son was in preschool, he asked me to draw a cat for him. When I hesitated, knowing full well this was far beyond my capabilities, he looked at me beseechingly, and I did my best to comply. When he saw my drawing, he said, “That doesn’t look like a cat. Mrs. Seegren’s (his teacher’s) cat is better.” I told him that I have many fine qualities, but drawing isn’t one of them. He never did ask me to draw anything for him again.
My artistic ineptitude extends itself to wrapping packages also. But I did want my washcloths and soap presents to look pretty, and so I fell back on the one area where I have some competence—fiber. At A.C. Moore, I found some nice, inexpensive woven ribbon to use to tie these into a package. I was not swift enough to calculate what I’d need for six, and I fell short. So a quick rummage through my fabric notion stash unearthed some lace that I used to use to cover hems. (I no longer do that, and I think this lace must be more than 30 years old.)
So here they are, ready for a tissue paper wrapper and delivery:

They look lovely, a job well done indeed.

I think we must be sisters! I can't wrap anything beautifully, and I usually get my husband (the math guy who has a good sense of spatial geometry) to wrap. A few years ago I foolishly invested in a bow maker and tried to convinve myself I could make pretty bows with it, but no luck. Your ribbon/lace looks lovely! Simplicity is always in good taste.

The washcloths look nice! I think you did a good job with the bows. I'm not the best at drawing or wrapping either.

Those are lovely! I'm going to have to keep that in mind for next Christmas. I'm legendary in my family for my poor wrapping abilities! If it looks like it was wrapped by a child, I did it!!

Very lovely! I love your wrapping job. It's probably too late for me to start those now for Christmas gifts, isn't it. ;-)
