Liv’s sleeve will spend the day (and probably the night) blocking.
Tomorrow I’ll baste it into place and check the sleeve length. But things are looking good. Since I have the original sleeve to use as a pattern, I tested the reknit sleeve against it. The marker shows my desired sleeve length, and the new sleeve length seems fine.
I unraveled eight additional rows on the partial sleeve I knit from the armhole to the wrist, and then blocked. That measure is accurate—I’m comparing blocked sleeve lengths on both old and new sleeves. Today’s blocking is only for the cap, and that matches the original sleeve. So here’s hoping.
I’m actually uncharacteristically optimistic that things will work out. All signs point to an FO. We were supposed to have a gray and rainy day, but the sky just turned blue and the sun came out. I saw my first robin, which I hope is not just a harbinger of spring but a good omen for knitting too.
